The criminal fraternity missed something on eBay

eBayOne of my workmates sent me this link on eBay. Hopefully, the link will still be active, but for posterity's sake, the item for sale is for Two CD-R's - Have data on them - some sort of database.

All I can say - or emote - is O_o.

Apparently 2 CD-R's were found in a local courier firm's sorting office, both of which are addressed to

  • "Her Majesties Audit Office - Child Benefits Section" and marked
  • "Sensitive HM Government Information - DO NOT LOSE - ENSURE THESE DISKS DO NOT FALL INTO THE HANDS OF THE CRIMINAL FRATERNITY"

I don't know what's scary, that this info has been lost, then found, then eBay'd - or the fact that the seller uses a god awful template when selling in the hopes to increase his sales proposition. I wonder if s/he thought they should hand it in first, and due to whatever bureaucracy that followed, thought to sell it to the world in general ala some criminal mastermind in the hopes of having revenge due to being stuck in line too long!

Surprisingly, the item didn't have a successful bid. Goes to show that the criminal fraternity are definitely missing a beat here. Just think of the opportunities...

...or maybe they had and thought it just wasn't worth it!
